Care

What is Resin?

Resin is a blend of composites that form a hard plastic-like polymer. Once cured, surfaces finished with resin are scratch resistant, durable, and beautiful. Proper care for resin finished products will prolong the glass like finish of your product.

Is it food safe?

For prolonged food exposure such as charcuterie displays or cake serving, it is recommended that a layer of parchment or wax paper be placed between food and the resin portion of your serving board or tray

Cleanse

Clean your product with mild dish soap and water after use. I recommend using a sponge (not the scrubby side!), paper towel or cloth. You can make the resin portion really shine with a glass cleaner but you may not want to eat off of that kind of surface... so use your judgement

Condition

Products featuring exposed wood require special care. Over time, the wood will lose its luster and require conditioning. Any food safe oil or cutting board conditioner will do, my go-to is mineral oil. Apply a generous layer to the wood portion and let it soak in for a few minutes before wiping off with a clean towel

Protect

Resin is highly durable and scratch resistant. However, it can be damaged with heavy use, improper storage or by using sharp knives on the resin. Never cut on the resin portion of your serving board or put it through the dishwasher. Resin is not intended for extremely hot objects like cookware but a hot cup of joe won’t cause a problem. Store your board carefully (don't put it under your cast iron pan!)
